New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jana DeLeon was raised in southwest Louisiana among the bayous and gators. Her hometown is Carlyss, but you probably won't find it on a map. Her family owned a camp located on a bayou just off the Gulf of Mexico that you could only get there by boat. The most important feature was the rope hammock hanging in the shade on a huge deck that stretched out over the water where Jana spent many hours reading books.

Jana and her brother spent thousands of hours combing the bayous in a flat-bottom aluminum boat, studying the natural habitat of many birds, nutria and alligators. She would like you to know that no animals were injured during these "studies," but they kept makers of peroxide in business.

Jana has never stumbled across a mystery or a ghost like her heroines, but she's still hopeful.

She now resides in Dallas, Texas, with her husband and the most spoiled Sheltie in the world.

    Jana DeLeon delivered another hilarious and well-thoughtout mystery. Swamp Team 3 make their way to Florida for the much needed and much deserved vacation. True to form, Gertie set out to capture the attention of the entire male population at the resort, and as expected, things don’t turn out as planned. I loved the twists and turns in this book and the mystery didn’t leave any holes. But what I appreciated was that even though they weren’t in Sinful, I didn’t miss some of the major supporting characters. Of course Carter was involved. Love that character. And I would miss them if they were gone for more than one book, but it really felt like a vacation and we got to know a couple new characters just like most folks do on vacation. Impeccably done, Jana! This series fills me with laughter, and there literally isn’t one like it. I know. I checked.

    What do you get when you put one ex-CIA agent and two Vietnam vets who were spies together on vacation in Florida?
    A whole lot more action than most tourists! From Gertie loosing her bikini top and being rescued by a "gentleman" who takes her to dinner to Ida Belle's dream come true boat driving experience with a whole lot in between! Fortune keeps her head on, remembering they weren't in Kansas-ok Sinful-anymore and realizes that the techniques used at home weren't going to help in Florida. So with a whole different set of parameters, the Swamp Team 3 is in the murder solving business to keep Gertie from being arrested by a lazy temporary sheriff! And the rest is hilarious.

    I love everything about this series-from Fortune's assessments of individuals she meets to Gertie's silliness and Ida Belle's fascination with speed and vehicles of any kind. I only wish Jana Deleon could write more books, and faster, because Swamp Team 3 makes reality seem over-rated.

Missed some of the regular characters from Sinful but that just means they will be even better in the next one! Loved that it still had the Carter connection though! MUST READ SERIES.
